About Me
I was born in Colorado and raised in Chandler, Arizona before getting my BAs in Creative Writing and Anthropology from the University of Colorado (2015), my MFA in Fiction from New York University (2018), and both a Graduate Certificate in Educating Multilingual Learners and an MA in English Studies from Arizona State University (2021 & 2022, respectively). While living in British Columbia until March 2024, at which time my husband and I relocated to Arizona, I wrote a novel, a novella, and several shorter works with the intention of finding a publishing home for all of them. I am currently drafting my second novel.
As a bisexual recovering alcoholic, my areas of interest in fiction are sexuality & gender identity & expression, addiction & recovery, family narratives, and sexual & intergenerational trauma.
While in BC, I was employed at KEY Education, a Vancouver-based admissions guidance and learning enrichment company. In my role as Writing Coach, I guided rising high school seniors in the university application writing process, particularly for schools in the US, Canada, and the UK, but also elsewhere abroad. I advised students on idea generation, planning, drafting, and revision. I have continued to work with KEY as a freelance Parent Statement Writer since returning to the US. I also recently held a fiction editor position at MAYDAY and take on freelance editing projects on occasion.
My previous professional experiences include various editing positions, as well as intern roles in the literary industry and an adjunct instructorship at New York University.
